珠穆朗玛峰是世界海拔最高的山峰，位于喜马拉雅山脉中段，横跨中国西藏与尼泊尔边境。它在藏语中意为“第三女神之峰”，尼泊尔语称为“萨加玛塔”（Sagarmatha），意思是“天空之额”。

Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world, standing at about 8,848.86 meters (29,031.7 feet) above sea level. It is located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and China’s Tibet Autonomous Region.
Mount Everest is known as “Sagarmatha” in Nepali, meaning “Forehead of the Sky,” and “Chomolungma” in Tibetan, meaning “Goddess Mother of the World.” The mountain attracts climbers, adventurers, and scientists from around the globe because of its extreme height and challenging environment.
Mount Everest has a very harsh climate:
Temperatures can fall below −60°C
Strong winds and snowstorms are common
Oxygen levels near the summit are extremely low
