恰规错位于与之相邻的那曲市申扎县境内。不过，因为它是大名鼎鼎的色林错（西藏第一大湖）的卫星湖，而且就在 317国道 旁，所以它是走“阿里北线”或“阿里中线”自驾回程时的必经之地，经常被大家当作“阿里一错再错”路线上的一颗明珠。

湖泊面积：约 88.5 到 90.5 平方公里（属于中型高原湖泊）。
湖水性质：淡水湖。在藏北众多咸水湖中，淡水湖非常珍贵。
水系归属：属于色林错水系。它的湖水会流进扎根藏布江，最后注入色林错。
恰规错最大的特色是湖水颜色变化明显：
湖边浅水区呈翠绿色，中部呈宝石蓝，深水区呈深蓝色。在晴天高原强烈阳光照射下，湖面呈现出非常鲜艳的蓝绿色渐变效果。
Qiaguicuo (also known as Qiagui Co or Chhagui Co; Tibetan: བྱ་དགུའི་མཚོ) is a beautiful alpine lake on the Northern Tibetan Plateau.While it is often included in the famous "One Lake After Another" (Yi Cuo Zai Cuo) travel route of Ngari, it is geographically located in Shenza County, Nagqu City, right next to the Ngari Prefecture border.
