沿途散落着无数如蓝宝石般的高原湖泊（藏语称“措”）。可以邂逅西藏第一大湖色林错、被誉为“神女眼泪”的当惹雍错、惊艳小巧的当琼错，以及闪耀着白光的扎布耶茶卡盐湖。湖水在高原阳光下变幻出翡翠绿、蒂芙尼蓝和深邃湛蓝。

别若则错的湖水由于富含钾、硼、锂等高浓度矿物质，在高原强烈的阳光和白云折射下，会呈现出一种极不真实的色彩。从无人机高空俯瞰，它就像一块深嵌在荒原中的巨大蒂芙尼蓝宝石或翡翠，明艳动人。
